About the show
100% Metal Proudly Presents: Katatonia, who transform melancholy into an art form, will recreate that magical atmosphere where darkness and emotion intersect on May 6, 2026, at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. The most beautiful melodies rising from the darkness are once again brought to Istanbul. Katatonia, the melancholic voice of metal, will meet with their audience for the second time on May 6, 2026, at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage. While the mark they left on this city years ago is still not erased, the band is now preparing to meet with Istanbul again on the threshold of a new era. Founded in Stockholm in 1991, Katatonia, at the beginning of their career, went beyond death/doom sounds and built their own dark universe by blending gothic, progressive, and alternative elements. Jonas Renkse's fragile but powerful vocals, profound lyrics, and the atmospheric texture that has become the band's signature have transformed Katatonia from just a metal band into an experience woven with emotions. The band, which evolves with each album while maintaining its essence, always makes us ask the same question: Can melancholy be this beautiful?
Katatonia has opened a new chapter, both harder and bolder, with their latest album, “Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State.” The fresh energy gained from the band's new members is reflected on stage. The Istanbul concert will be the first reflection of this new era's dark and captivating atmosphere in Turkey. Classic Katatonia tracks, as well as selections from the new album, will leave their mark on the night. This performance, combined with the acoustic superiority of Zorlu PSM, will create the best atmosphere for Katatonia fans with its emotional intensity and stage aesthetics. Opening the night will be Scenes We Have Missed, a melodic hardcore band from Izmir. Since its inception, the band has become one of the strongest representatives of the genre on the local scene; with its lyrical depth, melodic structure, and high stage energy, it will take the pre-Katatonia atmosphere to an emotional peak. With works like “Broken But Blessed,” “Geçmiş,” and “State of Dreaming,” they evoke melancholy; Blending post-rock, post-punk, screamo, and modern metal, the band invites listeners on an intense and introspective journey, just as captivating as the main act. Some nights, it's not just music that takes center stage, but emotions too. Let's meet at Zorlu PSM on May 6th.
