About the show
100% Metal Proudly Presents: Paradise Lost, one of the pioneers of gothic metal and architects of melancholic metal, is coming to Istanbul's IF Performance Hall as part of their 2026 European Tour for their album "Ascension"!
Paradise Lost, one of the most influential and pioneering bands in metal music and an architect of gothic metal, is in Turkey with their album "Ascension," considered one of the most magnificent works of their career. The band will perform at IF Performance Hall on November 15, 2026, for their Istanbul concert as part of their Turkish tour.
The Pinnacle of a 35-Year Legacy: "Ascension"
Founded in Halifax in 1988, Paradise Lost, who laid the foundations of an entire genre with their legendary 1991 album Gothic, have become one of the biggest names in the metal world with over 2 million album sales to date. Having shifted their style at various points in their career, from their doom-death roots to the magnificent sounds of Draconian Times, which conquered the mainstream, and even incorporating experimental electronic touches, the band solidified their throne once again with Ascension, released in 2025. Shaped by Gregor Mackintosh's signature melancholic melodies on guitar and Nick Holmes's wild yet clear vocals, this new album is a summary of the band's 35-year journey. Summarizing the album's dark atmosphere by saying, "People should expect more sorrow from us," Nick Holmes emphasizes that Ascension is a portrait of the struggle for upward mobility in life and the inevitable ends that come with it.
A Darkness Growing on Stage
Described by critics as "a more magnificent, colder and more dignified masterpiece," Ascension has a structure that grows not only in the studio but also on stage. At the concerts in Turkey, fans will have the chance to experience the album's most striking moments live, from the thundering riffs of "Serpent on the Cross" to the unforgettable melodies of "Silence Like The Grave" and the melancholic climaxes of "Lay A Wreath Upon The World."
The Istanbul concert will not only feature new tracks in the setlist. Ideological compositions that defined the genre, such as "Say Just Words," "As I Die," and "One Second," will also be part of the captivating power of this darkness. Be prepared to get lost in the darkness and rise with the purest melancholy of music. Tickets for the November 15th IF Beşiktaş concert are available at mTicket.
