100% Metal Proudly Presents: The legendary heavy/power metal band Savatage will give their first Istanbul concert on July 19, 2026, at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage!
After breaking their long silence, the legendary heavy/power metal band Savatage will tour Europe in the summer of 2026 with their "Prelude To Madness" tour. The first stop on this special tour, which includes 9 headline concerts and numerous festival performances, will be Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage on July 19, 2026. This concert will go down in history as Savatage's first performance in Istanbul.
Having returned to the stage in 2025 with comeback concerts in Europe after nearly 20 years, Savatage is now setting out to prove their legendary legacy once again. The “Prelude To Madness” tour will once again showcase Savatage’s artistic energy and stage presence with a powerful setlist encompassing the band’s classic anthems and deep, rare pieces.
The band's vocalist, Zak Stevens, says the following about the tour:
“Last year's South American and European concerts were extraordinary. Now, in 2026, we'll be doing 9 headline concerts in Europe. Istanbul, Bucharest, Este, Warsaw, and Leipzig… all will be our firsts. We're also very excited to share the stage again with friendly bands like Armored Saint, Vision Divine, and Nevermore. Performing in Istanbul was something we've dreamed of for a long time.”
Founded in Tampa, Florida, by brothers Jon and Criss Oliva, Savatage changed the direction of the genre with their albums “Hall of the Mountain King” (1987) and “Streets” (1991), which left their mark on metal history. Following the tragic loss of his brother Criss Oliva in 1993, the band gave even deeper meaning to their musical journey with albums such as “Edge of Thorns” and “Dead Winter Dead” (1995).
Today, Savatage, with its powerful lineup of Zak Stevens (vocals), Al Pitrelli and Chris Caffery (guitar), Johnny Lee Middleton (bass), and Jeff Plate (drums), will present its unique style, which combines progressive, power, and classic hard rock elements, to everyone with an exhilarating performance.
Since their historic reunion performance in front of 80,000 people at Wacken Open Air in 2015, Savatage is moving towards the peak of its rebirth. The Istanbul leg of the "Prelude To Madness" tour will be both a first in the band's 40-year career and an unforgettable meeting for metal enthusiasts.
